This defiantly is an album to get your lover in the mood, slower than Ska, more filled in then Dub, should put a smile on anyone's face after they have bought it and played it for the first time Customer Rating: Summary: A class reminder of the forgoton era of reggea. Comment: Before I listened to this album, I wasn't too aware of the "missing link" style of reggea that attached SKA to ROOTS; Rocksteady. After having listened to the album It became apparent that this style is as vibrant and exciting as its close cousins. A great introduction to a forgotten, if short lived era of reggea. Prince Buster described Rocksteady as "the summer season of ska" and this is born from the fact it is more slowed down and soulful than its cousin. This is illustrated best by the hilariously named GAYLADS and their track SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOWS END. Other tracks which live up to the mark of quality of Trojan are DERRICK HARRIOT'S LOSER and JUSTIN HINDS AND THE DONINOES' HERE I STAND. Having said this there isn't a track for which I wouldn't steal if I didn't already have it. In conclusion if you aint got it - get it. More Reviews
