Summary: Well Done Guys - this is just the start!!!
Comment: After hearing about them on Classic FM, I asked Father Christmas to bring me their debut album. I
can honestly say I was NOT disappointed. I love both Il Divo and G4 and was very interested to see
if they would be in a similar class. Guys, you are up there with Il Divo. You all have fantastic
voices and your classical training shines through. I absolutely love "Hallelujah", which I am
pleased to see has just been released as a single. The whole album is brilliant. I am looking
forward to seeing you live at St James's Church in Piccadilly on 28 February. Keep up the good
work.

Comment: Have to admit that I was blown away by the sound and the over all production on this album.It is
indeed well worth adding to your collection and I am looking forward to hearing more from this
talented act in the future.

Summary: bring on the second album
Comment: i love this cd, it's perfect for chilling out and amazing dinner party music. i especially like the
one i believe who is named 'dominic' - he's a cutie. i can just imagine ravishing them in their
school choir. i'd definitely have something to talk to the priest about in confession. i have
hallelujah as my ringtone and loads of people have asked where i got it from.

Summary: There's a good reason why this album has sold 100,000...
Comment: 100,000 people buying a brand new album, without any reality TV shows to boost sales, must mean one
thing alone - its a GOOD ALBUM! - without a doubt, the only bad reviews on this album come from
people who are either too young to appreciate proper trained singers, or too cynical to enjoy a
cover album for what it is. This is pretty much the ultimate christmas time album, with songs to
match your varying moods from uplifting glory, to quiet sweetness. The thing about the singers in
Blake, is that they don't actually stick to one rigid vocal style, so the album, has huge difference
between its heavy classical climax's, and the gentle folky solos in the more popular songs. It
really is something very new in crossover music, and isn't really for those that want heavy pop
music or hard core classical. Personally, I've enjoyed what can only be called "proper" classical
music for 2 decades now, but I really enjoyed the album for what it is. The overtly negative reviews
writen on this album are most likely by the members or managers of over competiting bands. Either
way, those bands wont have sold 100,000 records, or recieved such good reviews - so I say, well done
to the singers in BLAKE - they are professional, English gentleman - I want to see them do well and
show the music industry how things should be done. Lets have more trained singers doing well in the
world, they've worked hard to be there!!

Summary: Formulaic pap
Comment: What a shame. These guys have voices, they look good, but the CD is manufactured, formulaic pap,
sounds almost like an attempt to out Divo Il Divo. And in fact, it will join Il Divo on my top
shelf, never to be listened to again. Whose idea was it to take perfectly good English songs and
translate them into the latest 'must have' Italian, for instance?

The sound is cliched
'lush', no doubt intended to appeal to the emotions, but here, overdone, leaving the voices no room
for expression or experimentation. What a cynical misuse of talent.
