Editorial Reviews: The first in Ministry Of Sound's huge-selling Trance Nation series, this volume sees System F man Ferry Corsten tackling a set that, in hindsight, is as eclectic as it is accomplished. It's easy to sneer as the compilation kicks with Robert Miles' trite Euro-cheese anthem "Children", but Corsten, eager to blow his own trumpet, quickly jams it into his very own "Out Of The Blue"--a track that can claim to be trance's very own "Blue Monday". Underworld's "Dark And Long" and Lucid's "I Can't Help Myself" prove the first disc's highlights, but disc two takes us from the sublime to the ridiculous--Paul Oakenfold's remix of Mansun's "Wide Open Space" fronts a veritable trance hit parade, with tracks from Faithless, Paul Van Dyk, BT, and let's not forget the omnipresent ATB's "9PM (Til I Come)". Trance Nation 1 does exactly what it says on the box. --Louis Pattison

Summary: Have'nt even bought it yet, but I will review it
Comment: I have'nt bought this yet as I have only just found it and am waiting(oh...god...the waiting) till pay-day to buy it. This is one of those albums that has every song on it for the trance generation (the original trance generation, not all the bull that was a spin-off from it). The number of times I have listened to this albums is a bit scary, especially considering every time I hear one of the tunes on it on the radio I expect a beautiful transition into the next song on the track listing, BUT IT NEVER HAPPENS :(

If you say you love trance and dont have this album, your just kidding yourself.

Summary: How it started...
Comment: This is how Trance started for me, the great thing is that many of the great artists on this album (Way ot west, FSOL,..) have more than just one hit wonders ( a characteristic of future volumes). I would recomend this album.

Summary: best dance cd ever!!!!
Comment: There's some class tunes on this. This was the album that got me into dance music all those years ago and it actually gets better with every listen, even 7 years later!

It's how all dance albums should be: 2 discs, no filler, just lots of spectacular songs.
And it does help that Offshore by Chicane's on there-one of the best songs of all time.

BUY THIS!!!!!!!!

Summary: exellent
Comment: Exellent trace album, everytime I listen to it I'm back in 1999 wondering what the 21st century is going to be like.

Trance is pretty dead now, replaced by stoner hip-hop rubbish, but this is trance at it's best.
