Editorial Reviews: Essentially, Gatecrasher is known for two things: its loyal affinity to trance music and the colourful cyber bunnies who worship at its altar. If you've never been, and don't really fancy dressing up like an extra from Pokémon, this is a good introduction to one of Britain's premier nightclub experiences. The pace and quality is relentless--a never-ending stream of sequenced nirvana that rarely fails to deliver. Spread across two CDs, the first nudges gently percussive techno into the realms of soft Teutonic trance. Oliver Klein's "Rheinkraf" bubbles away like effervescent mercury, while the seductive pianos tickling Frean's "Heaven's Gate" are fittingly celestial. England's Terra Firma subtly ups the ante with the staccato-driven "Keep Moving" and the ethereal vocals wafting through "Love Has Come Again" are welcomingly human. After this comforting blanket of rich progressive house, CD2 blows in like a force 9 gale. The beats are harder, the riffs razor sharp, and when storm-trooping anthems like Albion's "Air" march neatly through your brain, you're left in no doubt that Gatecrasher is one UK export we should all be mightily proud of.--Paul Tierney

Summary: Release date?
Comment: Don't know if i'm the only one who sees the release date as February 2007.......Incase i'm not, i thought i'd just say that i got my copy of this back in 2000 - so it is 7 years past release.

And i'm in Australia, so we usually get our CD's well after they've been released over in Europe.

On a side note, this compilation did keep me entertained for hours on end, and its re-discovery has rekindled my love for trance.

Summary: Time to gate crash!
Comment: This album is really quite good. I was weary when I bought this, as I didnt really like dance music, but it has some really decent tracks on it. It's music that I would dance to (which I dont do often) I highly recomend this cd if you're just getting into dance music, you wont be lost for choice of tracks on this two cd compilation. Very good cd, was well impressed.

Summary: EXCELLENT!
Comment: This is definatly one of gatecrasher's best albums, even being a massive fan, this probebly gets first place, as it is one you can listen to all the way through without skipping tracks (apart from moby, which shouldn't be in any trance album.) CD1 focuses more on the progressive art of trance and CD2 is more dancy but doesn't lack fantastic vocals like 'Terra Firma-Adventures of' and 'Delerium-Silence' along with excellent mixing and a brillient finish with 'Miss Shiva-Dreams' (which is very cleverly made,) all round, a fabulous compilation which you will never get tired of hearing.

Summary: Deffinently better than Trance Nation!
Comment: The Trance Nation series appears to be a pop album album in comparison to Gatecrasher's deeper trance sound. Although Fery Corsten can play excellent live sets, his musical talent is wasted in sticking a new song together every 3 and a half minutes. In comparision, GSS manages to progressively wander its musical path from start to finish, inteligently combining the energy of thumping beats that gently fade away into uplifting melodies.

In comparision to Disco-tech, GSS has alot more darker beats to it, but it can never be discribed as heavy as there is always a melody waiting in the background to burst out and give you something to hum to!

Therefore a truely excellent album for the trance inclined clubber who has had enough of cheesy trance but does not want to get all industrial sounding.

Summary: Treading Water
Comment: I couldn't help but feel a little dissapointed with the lack of outstanding tracks on this album, most of it seems to be a fairly run of the mill affair. It does of course offer up a delectible treat of sytnthy beats that work up a foamy lather on your ear drums before smoothering your brain with ephoric happy feely o matic thrills. What this album lacks however is bounce, adrenaline and gossamer prophalactic sheafs. This could off course just reflect my changing attitude to trance music as I'm more inclined to listen to Paul Galzby's "Keyser Sose" hard house reinterpretation of "Dreamer" than the original these days. You see, it sounds nice, but it fades in comparison to red and wet. Good music to colour in too, though it won't help you keep inside the lines.
