Editorial Reviews: Since its inauguration in the early 1980s, the Now That's What I Call Music compilations have provided a constant barometer of the tastes of the British music-buying public. As such, Now 46 is no exception, with a great cross section of chart topping tracks. On the pop front, there are such luminaries as S-Club 7, Steps, Britney Spears, Kylie and Gabrielle to provide some great summery sounds. Meanwhile, on the rock front, Coldplay, Richard Ashcroft and The Bloodhound Gang are on hand to show the diversity of people's preferences. On the dance side of things, there's a good spread of the two contemporary passions on the club floor: trance and two-step. Trance is represented by Darude's "Sandstorm", along with York's revamping of Chris Rea's "On The Beach". On a two-step tip, there are essential cuts from MJ Cole, MC Neat & DJ Luck and the awesome stylings of The B15 Project on the superb "Girls Like Us". All in all, for a pop music fan, this is an essential purchase. --Helen Marquis

Summary: Good range of different types of music (club, party etc)
Comment: I am a mobile DJ and I use this CD quite a few times during the same session, every thing fron Shania Twain to Coldplay. If you are looking for some song from 2000 then this is the CD. It also has the club tunes like Sandstorm - Darude and Will I ever by Alice DJ. I rate this CD very highly in my collection and would recommend it to anyone that asks about it.

Summary: Now 46..roll on Now 47 ASAP
Comment: I have had this CD for ages. CD1 first. Opens with some massive pop hits, then after *NSync BYE BYE BYE it gets a bit boring. Not that I don't like these tunes, but the party seems to kinda stop here. CD2. Sume rinsin dance tunes, but some obscure unknowns. And then, at the end, a great smattering of pop. Good for what its worth.

Summary: A Good Compilation with a few exceptions....
Comment: Now 46 is another great addition to the NOW series - of course there are always a few tracks you don't want to hear but thats always the way. I think they overdid it on the Steps front (2 songs!!!) but that won't matter if you're a Steps fan as I am not. Overall a good mix of dance, pop and rock and I would recommend it to any music fan.

Summary: Overall a good reflection of the pop charts this summer
Comment: Another excellent compilation in the Now series which after 17 years still shows no signs of easing up on the hits. On buying this i felt i would prefer disc 2 with its more upbeat dance and trance sound as i prefer this style of music but to my amazement and enjoyment i found disc 1 better in the long run due to its pure pop and catchy sound.

Including all the best hits up to the summer of 2000 this is a great compilation with number 1's from Britney Spears, Sonique and the fantastic Groovejet by Spiller with the excellent vocals of Sophie Ellis Bextor of Theaudience.

There are a few major hits missing here (Pure Shores by All Saints the main one) but if like me you buy a lot of compilations you will no doubt have this elsewhere in your collection but this is a minor complaint.

A very good addition to the series and worthy of its massive sales but i feel maybe a few more quality songs rather than 2 Steps songs may have been better.

Summary: Now 46 - better than before
Comment: Now 46 follows strongly in footsteps of Now 45 with a load of funky no.1 singles from Britney Spears, Billie piper, spillier and loads more great music for a party! Turn it up! when;s now 47 out?
