Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Sasha...musics marmite equivalent Comment: Sasha is an artist that is very much like the music equivalent of marmite--u either love him or hate him...for anyone that doesn't know sasha is a world-known DJ that seemingly shot to superstardom over night. Although many people don't like this I think the jump was well worth it. This is my first Sasha CD and all I can say is this is completely different to anything Ive heard before. The first CD starts off with, what I think, is a far too long introduction which quickly builds into chilled progressive trance. Anyone looking for euphoric uplifting tunes like Tiesto does in his Magik series you won't find much here. That's not to say it can't be enjoyed though. The brilliance of Sasha is evident from the first track all the way through to the end of the 2nd cd. The 'journey' other reviewers have been speaking about is extremely evident in this CD and for me the 2 CD delight of Sasha doesn't kick off until around halfway through the 1st CD. Sasha is more than a musician in my eyes, he tells a story through music. This is the way it should be and this is the reason why Sasha has reached such a huge level internationally. To fully enjoy this cd you shouldn't skip any tracks. The reason why I say this is because I believe you can't truly understand Sasha and live the journey without listening to every drum beat, every snare roll, every melodic synth line. The mixing here is also, as expected, absoutely flawless and through each track raises the temperature and the mood of the cd further and further. I do think this CD requires a lot of patience as people who enjoy 30 second drum beats and then straight into the main tune may well be out their element here. This is my first Sasha CD and I think its an excellent place to start. I strongly recommend this to anyone who enjoys trance music or simply wants to experience the journey themselves, and for the price on amazon you can hardly complain. However, for those looking for something thats uplifting and harder I recommend the Magik series or some of Armin Van Buurens work. Customer Rating: Summary: What Brilliance! Comment: This is one absolute phenominal piece of work!! I've listened to a lot of mixes from all of the great DJ's and have all of the best Global Uderground CDs like Sasha Ibiza, Oakenfold New Yrk,Oslo Digweed Sydyney,LA etc but none of them touch this--my words are not justice in conveying this cd--the amount of times I have had goosebumps on my face from listening to this!!! its just an incredible effort and all i can say is if i had paid 100 pounds for this I would still feel like it was worth it!! Now I can totally understand why Sasha was revered as 'God'! Customer Rating: Summary: Proof of the existence of God Comment: This CD blew me away. Disc 2 in particular is utterly awesome, the mixing, the production, the build up of the mix itself. Truly outstanding. Any non-believers will be converted on hearing this. Proof indeed that Sasha is God. The best thing about the CD is that even in the height of winter you can stick this on and it feels like the sun is shining! I have been listening to these 2 CDs off and on for about two years now and I still find new 'moments' of pure musical bliss each time. I simply lack the facility to describe the power of the start of the Tilt track 'I Dream' at the culmination of CD 2. Listen to it in the car, in a club, with headphones, in your living room all alone with a beer - it doesn't matter, just listen to this as much as you possibly can before you die! More Reviews
