Summary: Brilliant - a blast from the past
Comment: Wow! How often can you pick up a compilation CD and say that every single CD is worth owning? And that every single song is at least alright? And that most songs are absolutely great? I have never been able to do that, until now.

Decades is a brilliantly put together best-of the best-ofs. It is a bargain at the price and a must-have if you were born at any time during the seventies or before. Having said that, my six-year-old daughter loves it as well. It is my favourite collection of tracks from the eighties and nineties.

Comment: This compilation tries to construct a brief history of "pop" music from 1983 to 2003, and I have to admit it make a pretty good stab at it. As someone who remembers all of these songs the first time around, I can quite readily recognise when I stopped listening to "pop" (sometime around the end of the 2nd CD). I assumed it was because I went to college and discovered other forms of music (aswell as other things) but it turns out that the early 90s just weren't much cop. Cher, Gabrielle, Maria McKee: all examples of fairly mediocre music. The same can be said for the 3rd CD; Busted? Blue? S Club 7? Not my cup of tea really.

Having said all that, though, I still love this album, and rarely have it off my 'turntable'. I'd highly recommend it to people, like me, who remember pop of the 80s, but I'd also say that those of you who only recognise the artists on the 3rd album should definitely give it a listen to see how little pop music has changed over the decades.

Summary: Decades of Music Worth a Listen
Comment: Now That's What I Call Music has become a legend in music compilations, and has been the flagship of pop music since Now 1 back in 1983. Ever since Now has been around, competition to do better has too, and no one has reached the pinacle which is Now. This is a celebration of their 20 years in business, and that's well worth shouting about.

CD 1 is mainly 80s stuff, everything from the energetic Wham! (Wake Me Up Before You Go), Phill Collin's Can't Hurry Love (One of the first things to be on a Now album; right throught to Culture Club, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and the legendary David Bowie with the classic Let's Dance. Other favourites come from Birmingham's UB40, Yazz, Kylie Minogue and Diana Ross.

CD 2 is based on 90s music, with the rave anthem Killer from Adamski, which is an unforgettible song. Other greats come from Beats International with their dubtastic Dub Be Good To Me, and the excellent Gabrielle with Dreams. A mixed bag with dance, rock and regaee.

CD 3 is based around the 00's, which hasn't been given a defined name. Artists include the James Bond influenced Millenium by Robbie Williams; Fatboy Slim's Praise You, a mix of old blues with big beat. This CD celebrates dance, R&B and Pop, oh and boy and girl bands, which really illustrates what the decades have had.

Altogether this is great for people who want to have a party selection, and for fans of the last 3 decades of pop music. Personally this isn't my bag, but I do think this is a great idea and as a child I loved Now albums, and used to enjoy recieving them for Christmas, so I'm sure kids do as well nowadays. The music is catchy, and pop, so it's going to interest a lot of people, not just kids. There's also quite a lot of dance music for people who want something more upbeat and rock for those who like music hard. This is well worth getting hold of for a music lover for Christmas - or just a gift. Excellent value too. All the best from 55 now's on 3 CDs, you can't ask for much more.

Comment: Starting from the beginning in 1983, some of the chart-toppers are inculded on here and It kicks off Phil Collins' song Can't Hurry In Love, then my childhood remember these on this CD, then on CD2 and CD3 is from the 1990s starting my childhood, then also inculding Adamski's Killer, Shaggy's Boombastic, Maria McKee's Show Me Heaven, Spice Girls' Wannabe, Babylon Zoo's Spaceman

Coming up from 1983 from right up to now, then also this is an spectacular CD.

Summary: now decades
Comment: I recently purchased this box set and initially thought how great it was to see some old favourites.
After listening to it i still feel it was a good purchase but do think there were greater hits out in these decades than some that were put on this album.
It would be good if they released another one with some more greater hits. Overall not a bad album but some great songs semed to be missing. Where are the likes of Bros and bananrama, like them or hate them they were around and had some of the biggest selling songs.
