Back to Hed Kandi The Mix: Summer 2007

Down with this Kandy
Comment:
Very commercial for the most, much too often heard tracks... the reason why Hed Kandi releases are
slowly going down (though with one notable exception: Beach House 07) is quite simple: the HK
creator Mark Doyle sold his label last year to MOS. Now Doyle is in command of Fierce Angels, check
these out instead.

RUBBISH!!
Comment:
Yep, this cd is complete rubbish and I only gave it one star as I couldn't continue unless I filled
in this field! Hed Kandi have really been letting themselves down recently, their albums used to be
great with some really fantastic tracks but nowadays far too commercialised and 'heard it all
before'! I can safely say that I wont be buying anymore Hed Kandi products.

Kandi's best for a long time!
Comment:
Lately Ive felt that hed kandi have rushed releases a bit and not gone for quality, but this is a
classic kandi release. Hands in the air classics. A few to many chart releases in there, but I
suppose as the music gets more popular the artists will release into the charts to maximise profit.
Looking forward to back to love release.

Not So Top Kandi
Comment:
Agreeing with the previous two posts about this album. Hed Kandi seems to have lost its
innovativism, at least as far as their compilations are concerned. Before Hed Kandi used to be
trailblazers in everything you needed to know in the house and chillout scene. Now this album offers
a collection of commercial records which dont quite seem to cut it. Granted this would seem a very
attractive album to those who enjoy commercial dance your local large chain of nightclubs play - yet
for those who have had the honour of being to a hed kandi event this falls way short. As dance music
gets bigger it seems like they believe a broad album will satisfy every which is not the case!

Hed Kandi needs to get back to the old style - i used to think Twisted Disco was one of the
best Kandi albums along with which i personally believe to be some of the best compilations for a
long time the Beach House series. Anything but this for true Hed Kandi and House fans

Pretty Poor
Comment:
I have to agree wholeheartedly with C Mcfarlane as anyone who reviews this album to be above the '2
star' rating is clearly either new to Hed Kandi or has very narrow musical experience in terms of
their spectrum of interest.
Ever since Hed Kandi were gobbled up by Minstry of Sound,
every album has got gradually worse, cuminating in this very poor release. Apart from a decent mix
of Shine on the first CD to get you into the album, the rest is just pure filler and is a marked
reduction in quality to previous years.
My Hed Kandi collection is extensive and goes
back to some of the first releases so I would say I am well qualified to past judgement. Every year
I look forward to 'Summer Sampler', 'disco heaven' and suchlike and for the last 2 years I have been
dissappointed and I think this will be last purchase of the hed kandi franchise.
If you
are looking for a true representation of what the hed kandi sound should be, get yourself a copy of
'Hed Kandi: Summer Sampler 2005' This album is superb and a world away from this latest terrible
instalment. If you are a truwe follower of Hed Kandi since it's inception, you will relate to my
comments...
