Been a CDM fan for years and have bought the Cds blindly and the last two have been truly dreadful. Too many awful songs on this and what's worse 3 CDs of it! Where's the instrumenetal chil out gone? I'll be downloading the tracks I like and forgetting the CD. It will leave a hole in the CD rack where 15 should be but I can always print off the CD cover put in an emty case so it looks complete without having to buy this dirge. Sorry CDM but you have truly lost your way on this one. Customer Rating: Summary: How low can you go? Comment: I think that the previous reviews already tell it all... The guys at CDM have REALLY lost it. Unfortunately, the CDM series must still be selling well, as they continue to produce this kind of scrap every year. The CDM vol. 12 started this very sad development. If it calms down someone, this vol. 12 was even worse than the most previous vol. 15, which I have now listened through four times. Based on this, I must say that I am 100% amazed how someone can afford to continue to underestimate the most loyal CDM listeners this much. The lack of investment in a professional DJ, who compiles this kind of CD, is very evident on the vol. 15. If compiling a captivating, professional, innovative, coherent chill-out CD only required the ability to hastily put together a set of incoherent, cheesy songs, then the world would be full of them. However, this is the capability (a lovingly selected, well thought-out collection of carefully crafted tracks) that separates the best chill-out CDs from the 98% mass that represents the commercial "scrap" category. I must say that I really miss the legendary CDM household DJs Jose Padilla and Bruno after listening to the four previous CDM volumes. Someone here asked for recommendations for CD compilations that represent the modern Ibiza chill-out genre at its best. Go with Phil Mison's very recent "Pure Ibiza" compilation. It is really great. I would be most curious about knowing whether he actually put it together after hearing and seeing how low the CDM series has gone... Customer Rating: Summary: Really, really poor effort. The compilers should be ashamed of themselves! Comment: Long gone are the halcyon days of the pioneering Cafe Del Mar albums. The early releases, carefully and lovingly compiled by Jose Padilla and the like, are but a distant memory. For too many years now these compilations are just thrown together with turgid, bland, and downright rubbish music! It's sadly all about money now, NOT the music. THIS COMPILATION DOESN'T DESERVE ANY STARS!!! Customer Rating: Summary: Oh dear, what has happened? Comment: These albums used to be the best thing on the market. Now I can only seem to find one or two songs (at best) on each CD! Seems like someone needs to change the direction back to Cafe Del Mar. At present it is heading for Costa Del Frinton! As previous reviewers have said - cheesy and liomp compared to the great compilations of the past (Vols 4 to 7 especially). Avoid - but then again, what is there around?
