Comment: Having seen the fifth season of Shameless earlier this year I thought I'd go back to the beginning and buy the first series. It's an insight on estate life (though much exaggerated!!) and every cast member gives funny, loveable performances. It is very well written and will have you in pain from laughing so much. Customer Rating: Summary: No shame in loving Shameless Comment: I only recently thought I'd give this series a go, mainly because of James McAvoy, who sadly departs the series after season 2. I am now moving on to season 3 and see myself still being glued by the time I get to season 5. I still miss the character of James, but the rest of the family are so hilarious and 'real' that it's difficult to leave this Manchester Housing Estate until I have to. You may feel the same. Customer Rating: Summary: grand stuff hey Comment: series one of the great series doesnt stutter or edge its way into character and form,it just bombs the place with the gallagher family led by the father,frank who is a waste of space ultimately as he rarely sees the world without drunken eyes,and his 6 kids who are raised by the eldest fiona. Along with neighbours veronica and kevin and other minor characters the show takes form to draw shocks,laughs and sentiment out of the viewer and to its credit manages on all fronts,frank waking in paris with a look of utter confusion is one of the great scenes,of which there are many. Shameless works because although there is the argument for over the top at times,the show doesnt take itself seriously or swagger with an air of arrogance,at times its simple and never out complexes itself,laughs come and go,drama does the same and so do the shocks which have given the show a real individuality,cracking series and well worth some of your cash. Customer Rating: Summary: Amazing!! Comment: I have never been really intersted in shameless at all, but i have took it upon myself and bought series one and two of shameless. So far i have watched all seven episodes of series one and it was so good. I didnt think i would be into all that sex, nudity and and bad language, but the good thing is there is an actual story to the series, and its a reflection on what life can be like for those people in an estate. This is a must see, and nobody can call it until they watch it.
