Summary: Utterly enchanting
Comment: Utterly enchanting and brilliant version of CS Lewis' book where four sibling children, evacuated to
a sinister country mansion during the Blitz, are transported to the magical land of Narnia through
the back of a wardrobe. Despite a major indiscretion by the younger brother, they are eventually
greeted as heroes, who under the leadership of the lion Aslan, lead the climactic battle against the
evil witch and her followers. Humans, centaurs and real-looking animals with computer-generated
movements fight side-by-side for good against evil in this incredible spectacle. Good wins, evil is
banished and the four siblings live on as leaders in Narnia. The film ends with them as adults
stumbling across some undergrowth leading to a long forgotten wardrobe door...

The
Chronicles Of Narnia is a magical spectacle with superb effects and excellent performances by the
four young leads. In my opinion you can forget the violent Lord Of The Rings and excellent, but
predictable Harry Potter - the Chronicles Of Narnia is poised to become the ultimate serial
blockbuster. Lets hope the sequel lives up to The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe. A wonderful
film.

Summary: Chronicles of Narnia DVD
Comment: Simply Put this is an excellent childrens film that will keep them spellbound throughout. My 5 year
old twins didn't move from the settee atall. (And thats very unusual indeed!) I personally loved the
film too and really and got wrapped up in the plot and loved the end scenes of the "Big Battle".
Excellent special effects and not too scary for the kids. Thoroughly recommended.

Summary: Excellent film beats Potter and LOTR
Comment: Dare I say it the beloved LOTR as well? Yes, because this is an adventure that can be enjoyed from
start to finish without having to invest 12 hours, plus it is not something that will terrify the
children.

As for Potter it is well known the the Potter series is heavily influenced
by the writings of CS Lewis in particular the Narnia films, so go for the original and best.

Summary: An Excellent Adaptation
Comment: There have been critics of this movie, and to a certain extent they have a point - The large battle
scenes will never rival those of the Lord of the Rings, however, this movie was aimed at a younger
audience as were the excellent books. When viewed in context, this movie hits the spot. From the
first moment the Pevensie children set foot in the land of Narnia through to their return through
the wardrobe this movie delivers an exciting and magical adventure.

The movie started
in an inspired way with the Luftwaffe air raid over London introducing the audience to the reason
why Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy were staying with Professor Kirke in the first place, and then
rolled on with a consistent and easy flow. The locations were magnificent, and the use of
animatronics amazing - as were the CGI and CGI augmented creatures! A particularly nice touch was
the way that Mr Tumnus shook away the snow from his hooves by stamping on the mat - his 'backwards'
goat legs really looked the part. The witch was not as frightening as she could have been, but had I
been six years old I'd have been terrified. Aslan was surprisingly lion like but managed to convey
the majesty of the king.

I liked this movie and I look forward to the coming of "Prince
Caspian" in 2008.

Summary: Stunning effects but long and drawn out.
Comment: I was disappointed with this film as it was way too long and did not move along quickly enough. I
ended up fast forwarding through parts. However, the visual effects and scenery were amazing. If
you're watching the film because you can't be bothered to read the book, it'd probably take about
the same time to read as to watch.
