Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: The Incredible Journey Comment: This is the film that made me start a life long love affair with the Bull Terrier breed (note NOT PITBULL)!! My 1st Bull Terrier was named Bodger in tribute to this film. Simply a beautiful and enduring story of the real love between the 2 dogs and cat and their family. Will never be topped in my opinion! A must have for all Bull Terrier people the world over.... Customer Rating: Summary: Sweet and simple family film Comment: Disney is not just responsible for some of the most popular animated children's films of all time, it was responsible for this 1963 family classic, too. It's a wonderfully simple and sweet story; three animals have been left with one of the relatives of the family who look after them. One day, that man goes out, and thinking that they've been left for good, the three animals set out to find their way home - over a whopping 200 miles. Amazingly this is actually based on a true story. The three animals in this film are an adorable Pitbull Terrier, Golden Retriever and Siamese cat, who have all been fantastically trained. There actually seems to be genuine affection between the three animals, in adorable moments when the three of them curl up together, asleep, or the cat, believe it or not, defends the ageing Pitbull against a rowdy bear. There are many other perilous moments along the way, and several times the animals are either separated or hurt, but against all odds, and some severely harsh terrain, the animals manage to successfully complete their dangerous journey, making this a feelgood classic for people of all ages. They don't make them like this any more. Customer Rating: Summary: Give your eyes a workout Comment: I was taken to see this film every time that it was on at the local cinema as a child. It was so enthralling that I cried with relief at the end every time. Still the only film to do that without fail. Watch it with your children. But this film is a true classic, and one that i definately recommend that you buy. It is a great family film, that will make you shed a tear if you love animals. No CGI used here, just great camera work which gives you the feeling that you are right there with them on their incredible journey. A feel good film for children and adults. Buy it now ! Customer Rating: Summary: A Family Classic!!!! Comment: I used to watch this film when I was a young boy, on a dodgy tape recorded off of the telly, finally they have released it on Dvd. This film is the only film that has ever made me shed a tear, & thats saying something as I am a Big butch rugby player. I watched it again recently & the ending still makes the hairs on my arms stand on end. This is a must for any loving family (especially those of you with dogs & Cats). More Reviews
