Summary: This is a very Beautiful Film
Comment: This film is really really good, namely because of its message, how love innocence, trust, faith, courage are a much more powerful force than most adults realise, this film holds the message of honoring the wisdom and Spirit inherant in all children, in the bible it says " ye must become like little children to enter the kingdom of heaven," which i believe is a direction to honor the child like ability to believe to trust and to unconditionally love with courage and innocence, this film is an empowering film for children and highly enjoyable for the whole family, it affirms and recognises the great wisdom and power we can find in our children , and how sometimes the great mysteries of life can so profoundly be understood by children, yet completely missed by adults.
To any parent who is in to conscious ecological environmental ethical integrated spiritual parenting and honoring and empowering the Soul/Spirit of your child , then this film will be much loved and appreciated as the amazing film it is.

Summary: Mimzy were the borogoves
Comment: Gather around as we tell the tale of long ago when children (Chris O'Neil and Rhiannon Leigh Wryn) on a vacation find a mysterious object on the Whidby Island sea shore. When the container opened they find unfamiliar objects and some familiar. And so the adventure begins.

The selection of actors was excellent; there is a mixture of known and unknown good and great actors.

The film is not so loosely built expansion of a 1943 short story "Mimsy Were the Borogoves" by Henry Kuttner and C.L. Moore. Of course they did not have to build the filler with several other sci-fi themes to distract from the mystery. And someone had an obsession with daily technology as we see with the cute bus scenes where everyone is texting. This time it is not a story of a neglected single parent child, or of kids being superior to flippant parents.

Some fluff added to expand the story time was the Homeland security stuff with Michael Clarke Duncan was lifted right out of "War Games" (1983.) This was a total distraction to the story.

Bruce Joel Rubin evidently did not really read the book or at least slowdown to realist that the toys in the box were not meant to serve a purpose but as with many things in life they inadvertently did serve an unplanned or foreseen purpose. So be actually destroyed the mimsy by changing the toys into a cheap plot purpose. Yet in his infinite wisdom on the plus side changing the rabbits name to Mimzy was a nice touch.

The extra goodies on the "Infinifilm Edition" DVD suffer from the same mistake made in the retelling of the story. They rely on technology to integrate the DVD extras into the film instead of having them as separate features. This can be annoying having to constantly press enter and select buttons. This may also be the cause of the fact that you can only move a chapter at a time forwarded or backward during the actual viewing of the movie.

Summary: Mimsy Marvel
Comment: 'When Noah and Emma Wilder discover a special box on the beach, they open it and unlock an exciting adventure beyond imagination. Inside they find Mimsy, a magical stuffed rabbit along with other mystical toys, which give the children exceptional powers of their own. Able to move objects with their minds and solve complex equations, these new wonder kids begin to attract the attention of their parents, teachers...and even the FBI. Surrounding the phenomenon of Mimsy is an awesome secret - one that holds the key to saving the future of all mankind'

I adore this film. Rest assured that this is not only a film for children, but one for all ages. It is indeed 'magical' and I really liked the references to Alice and the looking glass with her white rabbit.
Good, interesting plot with great action. This film is a must see.

Summary: Excellent movie...
Comment: Whilst this movie might not make the classic's list like ET or Jurrassic Park, it certainly is a really good movie. It also helps to get us thinking about the damage we are currently doing to the planet.

It is a really good movie to watch and really interesting.

Summary: The Last Mimzy - Exceeds Expectations
Comment: I took my daughter (aged 10) and nephew (aged 9) to the cinema to see this film before it was released on DVD. The title is not the best and leaves a lot to be desired, but personally, I think that this has to be one of the best children's films I have seen since Mary Poppins! I got hooked into the story at the beginning and was sorry when it ended. I thought it was captivating.

I'm not into science fiction, which is bascially what this is based on, and thought that ET was good when it was released, but I was absolutely blown away by this particular story. My nephew went along with us for the ride, but came out of the cinema chattering away saying how brilliant it was and that it was the best film he'd ever seen! Believe me, that's a great accolade to the actors, script writers and directors etc.

This gets a great seal of approval; I'm now going to buy it on DVD so the rest of the family can share in it's wonder.
