Customer Rating: Summary: The House of Mirth Comment: I first watched this film with no idea as to the story, other than what is written on the back of the DVD box. And I am so glad I did. Having now read the novel upon which it is based, I have to admit it is one of the very best adaptations I have ever seen. The music, costumes and script are perfect and the acting superb. Gillian Anderson gives a particularly stunning performance as Lily Bart, the tragic heroine. I have chosen not to give away the plot in the hope you'll take my word and give it a go, but I challenge you not to cry. More Reviews
