Comment:
I took one major thing from this film, and its a solid explanation of tarot card / fortune telling hokum, as explained by William Fichtner (in a good little supporting role like he excels in); basically that if you were to tell a large number of people made up futures for them, then you are statistically likely to make a correct presumption for one of them. And its that ONE that makes the impact. That ONE that is remembered. And in this lies the little gem at the heart of this pot-boiling, harmless thriller. Theres not much to say against the film; it doesn't stand out as excellent, but it has some great performances played by talented actors. Guy Pearce in particular, but lest us not forget JK Simmons and William Fichtner, nor too Piper Perabo. Its the performances that keep this running along nicely, as well as a nice questioning plot, if again, nothing groundbreaking. You're never really sure whats going on until things start to wrap up and when they do, you are left to think and mope over it. Well worth a watch. Its not an actioner or a comedy or a hard hitting drama, its just a nice watch with splendid acting from all.
