Summary: Great film on Blu-ray
Comment: A great film that looks far sharper on Blu-ray than upscaled DVD. Some of the night scenes lack a little depth but it's not a major problem and doesn't spoil anything. Overall it's a great film with an excellent transfer, plenty of interesting extras, and great performances to boot.

Summary: Great HD GLORY!
Comment: This movies transfer is excellent its pretty and the contrast levels are high, but especially during the early flashback scene's. The movies in its self is awesome, and the sound is mind-blowing, Nothing more to be said

Summary: Batman back to his roots.... and all the better for it.
Comment: Ok, first of all you need to realise that this isn't a sequel to the previous 4 Batman films, nor is it a prequel to them.

This film sees director Christopher Nolan, take the dark knight back to his roots, to tell the story from the beginning - HIS way.
First of all the HD transfer of this film is breathtaking, the already stunning cinematography is enriched with the HD visuals and great sound to accompany it.

The story really does live up to it's name, where Batman 'begins'. He shows him briefly as a child, but mainly in his later years, prior to donning the cape for the first time. What makes him want to do what he does, how does he do it? who designs his costume?

This film feels more realistic than the other incarnations, and the audience sees more of Batman/Bruce Wayne behind the scenes to be able to empathise with his character.

A great cast supports the fantastic Christian Bale as Batman. Michael Caine as Alfred the butler is an inspired choice. Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Katie Holmes as Bruce Wayne's childhood friend, Rachel. Cillian Murphy as the scarecrow and plenty more.

All in all a fantastic film, which in my opinion is the best of all that were made. I will always have a place in my heart for Tim Burton's 2 Batman films, but Nolan's has overshadowed them in all areas.
Brilliant!

Summary: The best Batman movie
Comment: This movie portrays Bruce Wayne's privileged but traumatic childhood, his path toward becoming an agent of justice, and his unusual training. It then moves back to Gotham, Bruce's hometown metropolis, that has become extremely crime-ridden, corrupt, and impoverished, with the gains made by Bruce's parents having been just about wiped out. To address this, Bruce Wayne, in his new persona of Batman, must face a powerful crime-lord, and an even-more-powerful, albeit shadowy, figure, plotting to ride the world of Gotham's evils by eliminating Gotham itself.

C. Bale gives us a Bruce Wayne who is glib on the surface, troubled beneath that, and an avenging crusader at his core. The imagery, both real and computer-generated, is awesome and dark, and the musical score enhances the story well, without ever dominating it.

The supporting cast is amazingly good. Michael Caine is perfect. Liam Neeson as Henri Ducard, Bruce Wayne's teacher in the martial arts (and more), was also perfectly cast. Tom Wilkinson was chillingly ruthless as the crime boss. Katie Holmes is Katie Holmes. I had not seen Rutger Hauer in anything in a long time, but he was very good as the cold, greedy, power-hungry businessman. Morgan Freeman did his usual excellent job as Lucius Fox. I also liked Gary Oldman as Inspector Gordon, and Cillian Murphy was coolly insane and cunning as Scarecrow.

Of course, Batman had to have some interesting toys. What makes him nearly invincible? Check out the suit. How does he fly? That cape is not just a fashion statement. The big toy, though, is the tank-like Batmobile.

Summary: Very disappointed
Comment: After all the hype and reading the reviews I was disappointed with the sound and picture quality. The story and content was great, but was it in Blu-ray? yes but it was not up to the normal Blu-ray standard, my DVD player upgrades my normal DVD,s to 1080p and the quality is far better than this Blu-ray film. To much of the film had dark scenes therefor the Blu-ray was unable to exploit the full contrast quality with bright outside scenes Batman Begins - 1 Disc Edition [2005]
