Summary: it's like all messed up and stuff....
Comment: Well it's like got a plot that is like totally thinner than water, the writing was like so totally
done by a group of teenagers and is like, not cool! The acting is like totally gonna win everyone
awards at the Golden Razzies - But who cares???

Let's face it none of the above is
important when you get a cast of beautiful young things together - you know the type? The ones that
make you feel as though you need to be locked up for being quite so ugly. When the plot isn't
working too well, when the acting gets wooden, when the paranormal aspect gets as frightening as
'trick or treat' and the dialogue is grating against your eardrums, these beautiful things just take
their clothes off!!!

Yes, the clothes fall off the acting ensemble with a remarkable
frequency! You will be amazed what prompts people to undress in Dante's Cove - a place that seems to
have a deficit of clothing stores. It is cheap, it is trash and for some reason I can't stop
watching and wishing I was oh so much more beautiful than I am...

Summary: Dante's Addiction
Comment: Despite other reviews which portray this TV Series as bad acting blah blah blah, I read the reviews,
and despite any negative write-ups, decided to take a chance! (Lets face it £18 isnt alot to lose
if you dont like it!)

Firstly, yes if you are looking for a good Gay TV series, then
this is it, I dont find it at all Camp, There is a good storyline within the series, and by series
2, I can assure you, YOU will be hooked.

It is very unfortunate that this TV series
never took off until probably series 3, luckily series 4 is in production and is due to air in US
Jan 09, so hopefully wont be too long till we can get it here in the UK <3

This series
does focus on alot of male nudity and sex scenes, the realtionship between the 2 key actors is very
romantic, and extremely heartwarming, and it WILL affect the true romantic side of you, it gets you
thinking! Wanting! and Desiring the life in this TV Series!

If you dont believe me, buy
it and see for yourself, you wont regret a single penny of it!

Summary: Gets better as it goes along
Comment: As soon as a series describes itself as a trashy guilty pleasure, it does set itself up for a
healthy dose of ridicule, and after watching the first season I was included. However I would urge
anyone to get the whole boxset of the three seasons and watch them as if they are just one season
(it's only 13 episodes combined) that way, you will really see that this show is actually fun and
surprisingly quite good.

Bascially a gay supernatural series, it makes no apologies for
hiring exceptionally goodlooking and toned men to walk around shirtless at every opportunity and to
engage in soft porn type sex (lots of moaning, a fair bit of flesh but you won't actually see
anything)
The first two episodes which make up the whole of season 1 are a bit wishy washy,
you never know where it is trying to go and I'm not sure the writers do either. There is a story of
course, but it seems very convuluted and for the most part, just confusing.
However seasons 2
and 3 really develop the story, the characters come into their own and the acting improves. New
characters add to the story and the lesbian storylines make this much more diverse and equal. />
This isn't Buffy, Charmed or Supernatural. It is obvious they don't have the money for such
a mainstream high class series, but to be honest, I'm glad about that. It is a good series and while
it is never explained why Dante's Cove is so uber gay friendly it doesn't need to be. It just seems
to be accepted which lets be honest, is something that all gay men and women would want.
/>I would recommend this series, but only when bought as the whole 3 series. Is it a guilty
pleasure? I don't know, but I couldn't stop watching it and am praying there will be a season 4

Summary: Witless Trash TV.... at it's best!
Comment: Dante's Cove is best described by drawing parallels to other (superior) TV shows. So imagine
"Charmed" or "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" aimed at a purely homosexual audience, then throw in plenty
of X-Rated action and remove all the decent acting, convincing visual effects and any attempt at a
coherent plot. This will give you a pretty good idea of what the show is about.

Set on
an idyllic tropical island, the plot of Dante's Cove is centered around the hedonistic lives of the
hot young things that live on it's shores. The supernatural element of the series is provided by
Grace (Tracy Scoggins) and Ambrosius (William Gregory Lee), two practioners of 'Tresum' (think
witchcraft) who cause all sorts of ridiculous drama with their endless feuding, romantic
entaglements and irresponsible use of their powers. This is played out over the first two series,
with their conflicting goals and motives and the appearance of Grace's mysterious sister Diana (Thea
Gill) driving much of the plot forward. All this goes on the back-burner for season three, which is
focused more on an evil force that invades Dante's Cove, providing a much darker and bloody
atmosphere to the show, yet still somehow remaining ultimately cheesy and frivolous.
/>The acting and production values of the show start off at a pretty dire level, but do slowly
increase in quality as the series goes on. Tracy Scoggins and Thea Gill definitely give the best
performances, stealing most scene's they are in. The other actors seem to have been cast on the
basis of how good they look with no top on, but in their defense this usally distracts from any
attempt at acting they make, so it can be forgiven. However, the magic and special effects look
terribly dated for a show created only a few years ago and really don't compare to other
high-concept shows produced at a similar time. The show is also plagued by numerous off-screen
changes occuring between seasons. This means locations, characters and plotlines abruptly vanish
from the show, or are suddenly played by different actors.

If you're looking for some
high-brow gay-themed entertainment to engage you intellectually and elicit some serious emotional
response, Dante's Cove is probably the last place you want to visit. However, if you're able to
suspend your disbelief, turn off your higher brain functions and just enjoy campy, over-the-top fun
with hot guys & gals making out (and the rest) with each other every 5 minutes, then Dante's Cove
may just be your new favourite show.

Summary: My Favourite guilty pleasure!
Comment: Dante's Cove is pure, unadulterated camp fun and as long as you leave pretensions at the door you're
sure to have a good time! The cult camp hit doesn't try to be anything other than an over-blown and
over-sexed supernatural soap and that's why it works so well, it never tries to be anything more
than pure, raunchy entertainment. Most of the beatiful cast are hired for their ripped abs and good
looks but there are a few gems among the more wooden actors - Tracey Scroggins (Babylon 5) is
fantastic as the evil witch Grace! The series starts of well but by season 3 actually includes
things like character development and a decent budget! Dante's Cove may be TV fluff but it is
ground-braking gay entertainment and looks set to run for years!
