Summary: The player is great but struggle with iTunes
Comment: I originally had a Zune from the US but it died suddenly within a few months and it cannot be replaced from the UK. Therefore, this Apple product avoider went against every thing she had every said and got a new classic. The player itself has been just what I needed to keep sane/deal with my 4 hour commute to work every day. It plays mp4, has my music and playlists, got the photos and most importantly handles all of my podcasts. Basically it does what it needs to and more - it can handle importing microsoft outlook (but have heard a lot of other people have issues with this). Haven't yet figured out the notes but I have only had it for 2 weeks.
My gripe is with the software. I wish I could go back to using the Zune software ...
Yes, there is much more content available on itunes but it is not as an intuitive programme as others I have used (but I am a big lover of coverflow) and it cannot handle audiobooks, even though it clearly puts forward that it can. On the player it lists all audio books in a/z of the individual chapter titles of ALL audiobooks. This is annoying a lot of people out there in cyber space. So far I have managed to get round it by putting each audio cd/story into its own playlist - tedious. A smaller gripe is that I can't get my tv shows to list their episode number on the player which can get very confusing if you are working through an entire season over a number of sessions. However, this last issue could be down to me not sorting them right, I am still learning. I have been informed by a mac user that the software works a lot better for him but I have yet to see this in practice.
Overall, I'm glad I got it and know that if it goes wrong I can get it sorted under its 1 year warranty unlike its superior (in my opinion) relative the zune.
PS. You will need to put aside time to copy and paste the majority of your album covers into itunes, if you are concerned by such things and have a large music collection it is a bit of a headache but I finished mine after a week and a half, nor will I forget the 30 hours it took to import my collection of 5.5 thousand tracks into itunes. I would recommend downloading itunes software before you ipod arrives.

Summary: Best fruit based MP3 player by far
Comment: Bought this as an additional unit to the Ipod Classic 80GB. The new Ipod Classic 120GB is a delight to use and behold. I only really listen to music and did not purchase this for it's other capabilities however as a music player I find it incredibly user friendly and the high capacity is second to none, despite the fact that it comes out of the box at 111GB (not unusual I am led to believe, but unacceptable when it comes to advertising hence the one star reduction).

    Summary: Christmas come early!
Comment: This won't be a long review. I don't have the techie knowledge. This is just an out of the box what do I think experience. To start with I brought two. One each for my daughter and myself for christmas. I also brought a Klipsch Room Groove (docking bay) for myself and a Klipsch iGroove iPod Speaker System for my daughter. It was my duty as father to try everthing out before christmas to avoid dissapointment on the day.The room groove I purchased from ebay for ninety nine pound (i notice it's a lot more now) and it must be the best deal I've had since picking up the wife a long time ago. The ipod blows my mind. How can it be (who would have thought it when they invented the wind up gramaphone)?
It's a miracle and worth stealing if they let you keep the ipod. You could spend years in prison and still not run out of music! Now the sad part. We have to wrap up everything and act surprised on Christmas day.
It's going to be a long five weeks. One more thing before I go. I have nothing but praise for the Amazon service. I paid to become a prime member and virtually everything I buy comes next day in excellent condition and at a price that is rarely matched. Well done Amazon.

    Summary: Briliant!
Comment: Am completely in love with my iPod!

I listen to a lot of audiobooks and the 120gb memory means I can store loads of them and all my music. It looks beautiful and is so easy to use.

Only problem is that the earphones are rubbish. I got another pair for about £7 which are ideal.

    Summary: Slightly Disappointed
Comment: I bought this to replace my old 3G iPod, which after years of service is starting to fade. I was very disappointed to realise that I'll be unable to use the inline remote that came with my 3G iPod with this model, especially as there doesn't seem to be anything comparable to use with this iPod. I tend to keep my iPod tucked away in a pocket and have used the inline remote a lot.

My other gripe is that the USB cable that was supplied with my new iPod turned out to be faulty. Every time I tried to connect the new iPod to my PC is would connect then immediately disconnect itself. Fortunately I have a cable for my old iPod that has both a firewire connector and a USB cable that I was able to use to connect to the PC so I could set up and sync the iPod. Very unimpressed with the quality, I expected better from Apple.

I find the controls slightly clunky to use, the 3G iPod only required the lightest touch whereas this one requires a very firm press of the controls. I also find the wheel less responsive when scrolling through lists, almost as if there's a slight lag in the iPod responding when I stop moving my finger.

On the plus side this iPod is much lighter than the old one, has more than 4 times the battery life and an additional 100Gb of disk space.
