Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Zen for pod cats Comment: Creative ZEN 4GB MP3 Player I bought this player to use for podcasts to make my long car journeys more tolerable. To my joy it is real easy to use for those less techy, the BBC radio web site has a podcast section and it has a button called 'zen' and one click and it down loads that pod cast to your MP3 player. The software for pod casts that comes with the zen is great, it is easy to load up on your computer, , it alows you to pick loads of podcasts, checks for updates and then it will synchronise the down loaded podcasts with your Zen. It does the same with all your music too. Top tip, you can buy a cheap plug in (on amazon) that connects to your Zen and sends out a radio signal which is picked up by your car radio or any other radio near it, lovely clear screen, great in the gym too. Customer Rating: Summary: IF ONLY WE COULD GIVE IT NO STARS Comment: This product has been,without doubt, the biggest sack of crap I have had the misfortune to buy.The first one I received had a maximum battery life of 9 hours instead of the mythical 25 hours on the product description.Creative's (lack of) support staff told me that various factors affect the battery life,even though I informed them we had only put a grand total of 50 songs onto the player.They then told me to download recovery tools,do firmware updates,try resetting it etc. etc.,which I duly did with no improvement.When they still refused to accept that there was a fault I contacted Amazon who were very good and sent me a replacement.They might as well not have bothered,as the replacement is barely any better.The battery life is still not great,the only way I(admittedly a computer divvy) can get the album art onto the player is by using windows media(making the zen media explorer pointless)and to top it all after downloading 25 cds onto it,it has told me to disconnect it from my computer and,after doing so,it has frozen,leaving me to wonder if I have just wasted the last few hours.The tat they sell on price drop tv for half the price cannot be any worse than this and the extra you pay for this branded product certainly isn't buying you any customer support from Creative Customer Rating: Summary: Creative Zen 4B Comment: I bought Creative after getting cheesed off having to install the dreadful iTunes with my ipod all the time. Creative make cheap electronics and it feels a bit plasticky, but it does its job just fine. Customer Rating: Summary: Brilliant Comment: I bought this MP3 player in a hurry, as I needed one before I headed off to uni. My old Creative Zen V (1GB) just wasn't big enough for all my music files, and I was also having problems charging it up, so I quickly went on Amazon to find a replacement. I immediately searched for other Creative MP3 players as I have found my old player to be very easy to use and reasonably priced, as well as more reliable than friends'iPods. At first i looked at the 4GB version of my old one, but then stumbled across this player, which was far cheaper. It seemed to be just what I wanted, and actually cheaper than my original one when I first bought it. Usually I would spend some time researching the product, but this time I just ordered it straight away. And I'm so glad I did! The large screen, compact size and minimal weight make it a perect for your pocket, but it is also very hardwearing. The menus and button functions are all clearly useable, and the sound quality is excellent. Video and radio are also good, and removable SD card memory is an added bonus. Even the sample tracks on it are pretty good! I can also highly recommnd this to anyone with sight difficulties, as the colour screen is very clear and all text is larger than on many other MP3 players.
