Decent base and midrange and unsplashy treble, it's not going to get audiophiles throwing out their separates but for music on the move its cheap and does the job and has nice display unlike the shuffle and not that much bigger really. It is exactly the same as the picture shows, and is the exact same size. The sound quality is great, even the headphones supplied are good. It is really simple to use. The screen is easy to see and the buttons are easy to use. You can just plug it in and start using it straight away, and there is a user manual for if anyone needs help.
