Summary: Disappointed
Comment: Looks very nice and compact, however, was unable to download anything via the USB cable as the connection was damaged internally and TeckNet put this down to user error!!

Summary: perfect for those who don't want waste money!
Comment: I bought this for my son, it is amazing, easy to use and with the added feature of a memory expansion slot (ipod doesn't) not got a bad thing to say about it. Perfect for people who don't want to waste money on a 'name'. I bought 3 in total for christmas, but I will be buying more and maybe one for myself!

Summary: Cheap and very good
Comment: Apart from the annoying clicking sound on the buttons, I love this device. I got it yesterday and I'm already using it. My music plays well, I even managed to uncompress the conversion software and put on a old concert video (which was an AVI). I'm happy now, I hope it lasts.

Comment: TeckNet V80 1.8" TFT Screen 2G MP4/MP3 Playe With Build-In FM, Exteneral Memory Slot - Black
This little machine has the feel of a cheap toy you get with a breakfast cereal, it's certainly not an ipod.(But an ipod skin fits it), taking the film off the display screen feels like you've halved the thickness of the screen!
BUT, it comes with some handy accesories, a mains plug with a usb outlet and while the paper manual in the box is virtually unreadable, it's on the enclosed CD along with some useful software.
The menu can be confusing but as long as you understand that the folder icon with a / by the side of it in the menu is the 'back' icon and that the button marked 'menu' on the front of the machine is what would normally be described as the 'enter' button, you'll be ok.
All you press the centre button for is to actually play/pause music/movie/pictures etc, when you are finally in 'play' mode.
Yes it's cheap, but it works and at this price if you lose it on holiday, what the hell!

Summary: Value for money - what more could you want?
Comment: When the TeckNet V80 first arrived, the charger literally went "pop", signifying a failed capacitor. However, I received a replacement within two days which was more than satisfying and I didn't have to pay postage. Onto the product itself.

The build quality feels sturdy and quite well built - up there with the proper Nano. You can't fault the V80 on price, storage, or features. The screen is fantastic, the sound is good and (if you get another converter, the bundled software does not encode the video) the video quality is certainly accessible. If the buttons were relabelled, and the "TeckNet" logo removed, you seriously couldn't tell it apart from a real iPod without putting them side by side.

The FM radio has some major problems; it picks up pretty much anything. That might be the MP3 player's internal clock (making a clicking noise) or the MP3 player's chipset drawing to the screen. It even picks up my phone thinking; every time the screen refreshes, there is a beep. When it really gets thinking (like when you're recording off the radio) the noise created by the chipset sounds like an old camcorder zooming in/out.

But hey, 2Gb of space, the card slot for a further 1-2Gb, iPodish looks, good sound and a great screen for £22? You seriously can't complain. And the manual with its "big bother" is amusing too.
