Comment: I've only recently become a fan of Patrick O'Brian's wonderful Aubrey-Maturin novels, as a result of the new film based on the novels. I've come to love the books - I'm currently reading "The Letter of Marque" - and this CD is the perfect accompaniment. The music evokes images of another world, images of Jack Aubrey and Stephen Maturin, of peaceful evenings in the Great Cabin spent exploring these pieces and others like them, and of elegant musical parties in Port Mahon and in London. Truly enchanting, and I hope volume 2 is as good! More Reviews
