Summary: Superb but some tracks missing!
Comment: I love this film and as a fan of soundtracks and King Arthur I had to get this (especially at the bargain price). Many years ago I found an old record from a 1950's(?) stage production and loved it, then I found a cassette in a public library of the film soundtrack, hired it copied it (naught me but it was no longer available) and simply wore the tape out with repeated playing. Now this remastered version so it was of course a must buy.
On the whole it is still an excellent soundtrack. Richard Harris is superb even though he speakes his line more than sings and the rest of the cast are equally as good. BUT, and it is a big but, there are key tracks missing such as one where Merlin sings of Nimue and the big ending which in the original version of the soundtrack had Arthurs spoken as well as sung words as he tells Tom of Warwick to run home, live out his life in peace and tell everyone about Camelot, he then watches Tom do as he commands and shouts encouragement to him "Run Boy, Run BOYYYYYYY!" and this is missing! Tragic, There is also a stage version with Harris again as Arthur (but everyone else is different, and this has the unedited ending which is worth getting as well (mine came from Deaggostini with a magazine).
Don't let the missing bits put you off, get this, its lovely to listen to in the evening, relaxing in front of the open fire... why am I typing, I 'm off to listen to Camelot.

Summary: HARRIS AT HIS VERY BEST.
Comment: Having spent many years of my life being a fan of Mr Harris, I was amazed at the quality of this brilliant soundtrack. Is this the same man that was in This Sporting Life?, was this the same man that made some verty poor movies in the seventies and eighties? also was this the same man who we all heard heard the tales about his hellrising?, well yes of course it was and what a brilliant man he was and what a brilliant CD this is, having met Mr Harris by accident in a Dublin pub one day in 1995 what a guy he was and his memory lives on in CAMELOT.

Summary: A little dated, but with genuine brilliance
Comment: This suffers badly from its inclusion of that kind of summer of love happy hippie late 60s psychedelic nonsense. Which is a shame, because some of the songs on this album are extraordinarily mature and beautiful. Clear William Shatner's How to Handle A Woman from your minds. For God's sake, let's all try to. Listen instead to this CD's lovely, sensitive 'If ever I would leave you' and 'I loved you once in silence'. There are playful, sweet, funny songs, too. And some really embarrassing ones. Richard Harris whispers or shouts, nothing in between, but he's a likeable Arthur, and Vanessa Redgrave's non-stagey very real voice shows what a great actress she is and is all the more charming for not being polished and full of vibrato. It's a nice album.
