Back to Over the Hills and Far Away: The Music of Sharpe [SOUNDTRACK]

Putting things right
Comment:
Strange to read the previous review - I am sitting here with the cover from my copy and having added
up the times of the album calculate that the album is actually 52 minutes NOT 30 minutes as wrongly
stated. Over the Hills and Far Away is 3.48 and the epic Spanish Bride is almost 7 minutes long.
You also have two beautiful songs from Mercury nominee Kate Rusby, totally over 9 minutes. In all
there are over 20 tracks, including an overture by Sean Bean. This album stayed at number 3 in the
compilation charts for some time. Perhaps the previous person didn't listen to the other side!!!

Not worth it
Comment:
Unfortunatly I have to agree with alot of the other comments, half the songs are so unlike the ilm
it is a wonder why theywere put in, and the other half are so short that your through the entire CD
in less than 30 minutes. I love listening to soundtracks and this has fallen well below par.

Summary:
Awful - I'm only giving it one star because there's no option to give it none.
Comment:
I bought this CD hoping to hear some period songs - particularly The Rogue's March. The tracks on
the CD were massively over-produced and appallingly rendered. The Rogue's March lasted around 20
seconds and only a single verse was sung - complete con. Whoever arranged the songs on the CD
obviously hates music - as they certiainly don't work in the order recorded.
Don't buy
this CD - it's terrible and you will be disappointed.

Disappointing
Comment:
Thought i'd ignore the bad reviews and judge it on its own merits - sadly i must concur that this is
not the album i'd hoped it would be. Even John Tams' 'Over the Hills...' rendition is ruined by
unnecessary drum beats and bass guitar. WHAT?! Do yourself a favour, don't waste your money on
this - one for the die-hard fans only!

we're disappointed!
Comment:
we love sharpe and wanted a true interpretaion of the epic fabulousness that is sharpe. we think the
songs are brilliant but they shouldnt have tried to jazz them up - we wanted them as they were in
the films!
