Summary: One of the most durable and relistenable comedy albums of all time
Comment: Pete and Dud, sometime in the early seventies, mutated into Derek and Clive, a pair of Tory-voting, heavy-drinking, football-loving toilet attendants who have an opinion on everything, think the world's gone mad and are deeply embarrassed by women. For Derek and Clive, everything went downhill after the death of Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper. And it's this peculiarly British mindset - a combination of drunken menace and a willingness to talk utter nonsense for several minutes at the drop of a hat - that the two erstwhile satirists tap into over the course of the three Derek and Clive albums. There are more 'real life' Dereks and Clives around than you might think. 'Come Again' is by far the most outrageous and offensive of the albums ('Ad Nauseum' tries hard, but feels disjointed and some of the ideas are non-starters) as the duo ruminate on cancer, masturbation, gay members of parliament, the genitalia of Hollywood stars, incest and the unfairness of the traffic laws. Although it's hard to choose, the most uproarious sketch is still 'My Mum Song' (a misleadingly twee title) in which Dudley Moore alternates between improvising an obscene ditty and collapsing into gibbering hysterics, and Peter Cook alternates between trying to restrain him and trying to make him laugh even harder (he succeeds). This was punk comedy a full five years before the Young Ones, and time has been kinder to it as well.

Summary: A good place to start
Comment: Sketches here are highly quotable. The comedy is crude, witty and clever all at once. Both Pete and Dud are on good form and contribute to the product. This is a must for any Drek and Clive fans.

There are some classic sketches here that have probably reached legendary status. These guys were cutting edge and Peter Cooke is utterly hilariously drunk and insane.

Summary: All right Kevin?
Comment: Some people quote Python, reciting such gems as The Parrot Sketch and 'he's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy...' (etc etc.) But for me it was always the outrageously offensive Derek and Clive sketches that Robbie and I spouted after too many Grolch's. Luckily I lived in Germany at the time, and not too many people understood what we were going on about! Dudley dissolving into a gibbering wreck is classic. OK, so it is toilet humour, but we don't always have to listen to Melvyn Bragg do we? Fantastic.

Get out of the cab!!!

Summary: Brilliant - a classic
Comment: It was shocking and funny when it first came out and it's continues to be so. The humour pulls no punches and depending on your point of view is meaningless drivel or comic genius. It's supposedly, and comes over as, unrehearsed ad-lib and is very rough around the edges. There are some truly inspired moments which are even more impressive given this. If you are female or of delicate persuasion, I may be wrong, but I don't think you're going to like it!

Summary: Utterly dismal
Comment: There is not one single, solitary laugh to be had on this sorry disc. I'vegot no issue with profanity, sick humour, or any of the other supposedtaboo's that Pete 'n' Dud think they are shattering here, but I have got aproblem with being bored -which I was for the 76 minutes 38 seconds Iendured this. Bored because there is truly nothing less interesting on theface of this Earth than people trying desperately to be shocking. If acouple of middle aged men shouting obscenities at each other gets youexcited then your probably way too excitable in the first place. Like Isaid I don't mind jokes about cancer or the nether regions of Hollywoodstars as long as the jokes are funny.
The first track consists of thecomedy duo hurling abuse at the listener for being so stupid as to buy thething in the first place and baby, they ain't joking.
