back to her old tricks
Comment:
Whitney has tried on many re-incarnations in the last decade, a little soul, a little hip-hop and numerous collaborations. But at last she has returned to what she does best. Those who shun the soaring ballad read no further! But this is Whitney at her best, the melody is original, her voice...unfaltering. This lady sings like silk, she may not have the gritty edge or original twist of some her current peers, Jill Scott, Sunchine Andersen, India Arie, but she still has something that no-one else has got. And no-one can sing a ballad like this lady. Her range is tested as ever, and never ceases to amaze. The melody is emotive and powerful, of the same high standard as her early ballads. This single would have been a worthwhile addition to the Bridget Jones soundtrack. The lyrics are poignant and effective, turn it up loud and sing into your hairbrush!
