Editorial Reviews: For an artist who only released four proper albums in a 15-year career, it's astounding to recall how many hits Whitney Houston was able to achieve. The two CDs on Greatest Hits track Houston's rise from mid-1980s hit machine balladeer to standard-setting diva. Disc 1, CoolDown, runs chronologically through Houston's down-tempo love songs, from "Saving All My Love For You" and "I Will Always Love You" to the cleverly conceived new duet with Deborah Cox, "Same Script, Different Cast". She's also showcased as the remixee of choice for DJs on the second disc, Throw Down, which serves as the antidote to the lovesick first disc. Calling in marquee mix masters, Houston's old-shoe tunes get a new millennium polish. "My Love Is Your Love", reinterpreted by Jonathan Peters, captures the versatility of Houston's songs by making the downbeats danceable without going totally Euro-cheese. In contrast, Junior Vasquez's remix of 1985's "How Will I Know" pokes fun at the song's 1980s fluffiness by layering in bells, lasers effects, and echoes on top of Whitney's enthusiastic vocals. --Heidi Sherman

Comment: Well I've always loved Mariah, Celine and Leona, but i've never really warmed up to Whitney, i think i love the high screaming nutters! lol. But yes, this is a great collection of hits from Ms. Houston. I will always love you being the most impressive, and theres a few gems on here that i'd never heard before like "Its not Right But its okay" , "How Will I Know" and a few more. There are some which i dont like at all such as "count on me" (even though its nice) and im sick of hearing "Run To you"!! But she will go down as a classic. Even though she is amazing, i do still believe Celine has more power, Mariah has more range and Leona- well we havent seen the best of leona yet... She is better than Christina Aguilera and Aretha Franklin though... Anyway! I'll stop comparing! Smashing album and She is undeniably a great great vocalist. x Customer Rating: Summary: Absolutely Brilliant. The Original & The Best. Comment: Love this album to death, it's a 2 disk collection of all Whitney's hits old and new. The first disk is the ballads, and the second disk is the more up-tempo numbers. Whitney really has sung some amazing songs over the years, she also has the incredible, unforgettable highly credited vocals to match. Generally i like all of Whitney's songs, but the highlights for me were obviously the killer hit 'I will always love you', if Whitney hadn't of covered this song i doubt it would be as famous or as popular as it is today, 'One moment in time' the world's best ballard, sung for the 1988 Olympics, vocals couldn't be more excellent, i hope someone plays that song at my funeral, 'I learned from the best', very good one of Whitney's more modern hits, 'Saving all my love for you' also very good and finally 'Greatest love of all' the anthem that got every wannabe diva in the land singing along to, and still it's stood the test of time. In my opinion, she couldn't of brought out a better greatest hits album, it's certainly one of my favourite Whitney albums, if not my favourite. Customer Rating: Summary: What a Shame Comment: Whitney Houston, one of the best-selling female entertainers, is severely wronged by this compilation. Disc one delivers many of her best-known songs such as: "I Will Always Love You", "Greatest Love of All" and "I Have Nothing", but disc two really brings down the quality of the album as a whole. Whoever thought of the idea to put mediocre remixes side by side of some of the best pop music in history? I wonder what Whitney thought when she first heard the album. Well, I heard it, and I was not impressed. The cover is boring, and I wonder why they didn't put a little more effort into this project (for great compilation-covers, check out "Island Life" by one miss. Jones). Let's hope her upcoming "Ultimate Collection" gets it right. So, before you decide, you really have to ask yourself if you're willing to pay full-price for an album of remixes. I can't believe that I've been a fan of hers for the past 20 years. This album is beyond incredible and you all should add it to your collections. WHERE DO BROKEN HEARTS GO From the album WHITNEY (1987). One of Whit's best. ALL THE MAN THAT I NEED From the album I'M YOUR BABY TONIGHT (1990). Okay. RUN TO YOU From the original motion picture soundtrack THE BODYGUARD (1992). One of the themes to Whitney's first major film role THE BODYGUARD. Outstandingly beautiful. I HAVE NOTHING From the original motion picture soundtrack THE BODYGUARD (1992). This was the another one of THE BODYGUARD themes. Another beautiful song. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU From the original motion picture soundtrack THE BODYGUARD (1992). This was the main theme for THE BODYGUARD. DOLLY PARTON originally did this classic ballad, but Whitney's version is the definitive killing machine version. Although some of us are sick of it, we all can't deny that this is a classic that is impossible to kill. The part I love the most is at the end when she hits that high note. EXHALE (SHOOP, SHOOP) From the original motion picture soundtrack WAITING TO EXHALE (1995). I started to become less interested when Whitney got into the R&B stage.
