Editorial Reviews:
Britain's favourite singleton, Bridget Jones, has finally made it to the big screen (and onto the cover of this 19-track soundtrack), bringing hope to lonely souls all over the country and a word of warning to smug marrieds everywhere. For what should be called "the best chick flick in the world...ever!" the soundtrack compilers have come up with a dream tracklist--from classics such as Aretha Franklin's "Respect", Jamie O'Neal's tearjerker "All By Myself" and Andy Williams' "Can't Take My Eyes Off You", to more contemporary gems from the likes of Gabrielle ("Out of Reach"), The Pretenders ("Don't Get Me Wrong") and Artful Dodger ("Woman Trouble"). Plus you get the added bonus of two unreleased Robbie Williams tracks--the big-band stylings of "Have You Met Miss Jones?" and the tender "Not of this Earth"--and, of course, the much-hyped karaoke-by-numbers of "It's Raining Men" by Geri Halliwell and her pants. There are a couple of fillers from Rosey and Alisha's Attic, but they don't distract too much from the generally choice tracks on offer. As Bridget would say, "v. good". --

Excellent, lively soundtrack

An excellent soundtrack to an excellent movie. It just makes you want to get up and dance, to cry at other times, but most definitely to reach for you DVD almost everytime you hear it!

A great album
Comment:
A fantastic book, a fabulous film and a great album. I decided to get the soundtrack album whilst sitting in the cinema watching the film. There is a great selection of tracks from diverse artists such as Gabrielle and Andy Williams. The only minuses are Geri Halliwell's version of "It's Raining Men" and the almost unforgivable omission of Van Morrison's "Someone Like You". Altogether a great listen.

v.v.vgd! A must for all Bridgets!
Comment:
This is a superb soundtrack, which completely captures the essence of the film. With a mixture of old and new, happy and sad, it should please everyone. Whether you are a singleton or a smug married, this is for you! I strongly urge you to buy it, if only for treasures such as 'All by Myself' and Robbie Williams' 'Have you met Miss Jones'. Well worth the money. Enjoy it!

Outstanding album of the year!
Comment:
Outstanding! Truly one of the best albums this year. A lot of old "goodies" in a well-balanced mix with newer sounds. GET IT! It suits all moods and all occasions.

Album of the year - it has to be!!
Comment:
I bought the soundtrack before I saw the film and I couldn't believe how many of my favourite songs were on the track! (Although Geri is by no means as talented as the Weathergirls it's a bit of a laugh)Now after seeing the film everytime I hear All by Myself I just cant help myself giggling (Cruel I know) and memories of the film flood back! This has to be the album of the year 2001 if not of the decade. 10/10 to Pixador!
