I loved it to pieces and I'm alreadybooking tickets to see it again! The album was given to me by a friend andI love it! Customer Rating: Summary: Simply fantastic Comment: From the film, they ditched the entire score except the title song which is a pity in some ways. But the new songs are almost all show-stoppers, especially my favourite "Long as I'm here with you". If you like Broadway musicals, if you like jazz, this CD is simply great. I've seen it on Broadway. I couldn't wait to order the CD. When you here the overture you realise the writers knew they had a stunning score, it does not rely on the title track, unlike the film. Customer Rating: Summary: A little gem of classic jazz and irony Comment: I had the good luck to see "Thoroughly Modern Millie" on Broadway a couple of months ago, and I was looking forward to the Original Boadway Cast recording to come out on CD. The musical is the remake of a movie, but it includes original music and songs. As the story is set in the 1920s, jazz and ragtime are the leading moods of this musical. All the new songs are delightful (especially "Only in New York"), and the new versions are extremely well delivered ("Jimmy" is the best example). Also, what I really liked about this musical, are the ironic tones, as the couple of Chinese good-hearted crooks, and the love story between Miss Dorothy and Mr Graydon. "Ah!
