Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Very good but not a classic. Comment: I have to say that I really like this soundtrack but you should be aware that it's not one that is easy to listen to right through and follow a thread in the music as you would find in Howard Shores LOTR, John Williams assorted works or, perhaps more relevant, Eric Serra's 'Leon.' These are very scene specific pieces of music that worked very well in the film but sit less easily alongside each other in this way. The theme of the main character in the film is omnipresent through most of the music but that's not quite enough to tie it all together for me. Treadstone Assassins (rightly highlighted in the earlier review as the stand-out track) is a case in point. It's a total divergence from what comes before and after it. Great track, but not sitting well. It's a shame that they couldn't secure the rights to Moby's 'Extreme Ways' which is the closing title track in Supremacy as well as Identity and fits very well with the film and the soundtrack. Still, I took that from Moby's album '18' and added it in my own iPod mix so no loss there. I suggest you do the same. All in all lots of good music, but not a great album - even for an instrumental soundtrack. Customer Rating: Summary: The Bourne Identity Soundtrack Comment: Well this certainly is a very different soudntrack to many films. It seems to have a unique blend of techno beats, while also catering for a bit of classical instrumental music mixed in with a drum beat. One track in particular stands out "Treadstone Assassins" which is a unique blend of classical, techno style. Overall some of the tracks may appear a little repetative, althouht a few are quite catchy and you may find yourself humming a particular track all day. More Reviews
