An updated read on William Shakespeare's

, Gil Junger's
10 Things I Hate About You
is a teen comedy about two sisters on opposite ends of the social spectrum: one is pretty and popular, the older sister is bitter and vengeful. Family rules dictate that the younger sibling can't date until the older one has. You see where this is going. The soundtrack features Letters to Cleo in a 1970s mood covering Cheap Trick's "I Want You to Want Me" and Nick Lowe's "Cruel to Be Kind". Sweden's Cardigans include a rare B-side, "War". George Clinton's "Atomic Dog", Joan Armatrading's "The Weakness in Me" and Madness's "Wings of a Dove" still sound fresh. The only real misstep is Sister Hazel's "Your Winter", which sounds like a Seven Mary Three parody, full of breast-beating sincerity and lyrics that defy the laws of coherence.

If you're a big fan of the film then this is a purchasing must. Letters to cleo and sister hazel rock. And even if you're not a big fan of the film if you like rock/pop then there tracks on here to suit most peoples taste.

Wow this is a great sound track!!!!
The songs are great they make you wanna listen again and again, the only bad comment i can make is that more songs from the film should have been featured as this comprises of only a few, but all worth listening to all the same.

A truely great album
Comment:
This is a must have for those who are fans of the movie and "angry girl music of the indie/rock persuasion". No, seriously there is something on this album for everyone and is well worth every penny you spend on it. It does lean towards a pop/rock/indie stlye of music so if you don't like that kind of thing then this isn't for you. But for those who do i urge you to buy this album and enjoy.

Comment:
Really is immense. I'd never heard of Letters to Cleo before but they are so hip and happy.. the whole thing just makes you smile from ear to ear!! It's great for everything... Even Angels fall is a little more chilled out, as are Your Winter and War... I can't sing it's praises enough!!! Listen and you'll know what I mean!

Comment:
Letters to Cleo are one of my fav. bands so no wonder I like it so much! I have to say the mix of song types on this album is tremendous, you have the swinging type of song featured at the prom on the film, the hip head banging songs i.e. cruel to be kind by LTC, and then the romantic slow tearjerking songs like even angels fall! Overall this soundtrack is one of the best I have ever heard before and congratulate the marvellous people who made it possible!!!!!!! WE R NOT WORTHY!!!!!!!
