Summary: Who Loves Mixtape Dj's ?
Comment: This album is the soundtrack to the Roc-a-fella film 'Paid In Full' which is about Az, Alpo and Rich Porter who were young drug dealers who ran Harlem In the 1980's untill betrayal ended their lives early. This album is a double disc affair, the first disc is the soundtrack to the film and the second is a Roca-a-fella mixtape. The first disc contains some classic hip hop tracks like BDP 'The Bridge Is Over' Eric B and Rakim 'Paid In Full' and Slick Rick and Doug E Fresh 'The Show'. All the tracks are dope but what lets it down is that the first disc is hosted by Dj Brucie B who proceeds to talk over all the tracks. Mixtape Dj's generally talk on records but he takes it to a new level and makes the tracks almost unbearable, it's like he is shouting out anyone he's met over the last 20 years!

The second disc is a good improvement this disc is hosted by Dj Clue who doesn't wreck the tracks like Brucie B does with the first disc. This disc is good and features almost all the Roc-a-fella artists, there are a couple of Rnb tracks but apart from that it's all good. The tracks to check for are 'Champions' produced by Kayne West which samples the Queen track of the same name check out twista's flow on this track. Other good tracks are 'Roc Army', '1,2 Y'all' and 'I'm Ready' which is an ill Dip Set track with the beat being produced by Heatmakerz also 'Home of Philly' has a good beat. If you have heard the album by Littles called 'The Feeding' you will recognise a lot of the beats as he uses them especially 'Home Of Philly' and the Jay-z track 'Don't You Know' this just shows that the production isn't bad at all. Overall I think this album deserves 3 1/2 rating but i'll give it the benefit of the doubt, If It wasn't for the mixtape feel to the album it would be a lot better but if ya a fan of the ROC you should check it out. Peace
