Summary: Amazing Isolationist Electronics..........
Comment: Not only is this a first-class soundtrack to a hilarious piece of modern Icelandic cinema, (and how many times can you say that in one lifetime?), but it's also the missing link between Blur's self-titled 1997 album and this year's Gorillaz project.

Dense electronic soundscapes match the visions of Icelandic tundra, with generous helpings of Augustus Pablo-esque melodica and the recurring use of the Kink's "Lola" - the name of Victoria Abril's character in the film itself - throughout.

Blur's Damon and the Sugarcubes' Einar make an interesing collaborative effort - something they'd threatened to do since Blur recorded their eponymous 1997 album in the land of alcohol, sex and snow - owing a huge debt to Scandinavia's current fascination with ethereal techno and original Tubby-heavy dub textures.

As an album it does work, but you really do need to have seen the combination of music and visuals the film can provide to paint that snowy white picture the CD needs.
