Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Well sprung Comment: I did not feel that "Spring Awakening" worked on stage that well as musical - the blend of nineteenth century story and contemporary lyrics jarred rather for me. The soundtrack stands out on its own though as sensitive and stimulating throughout and you really do not have to follow the plot to enjoy the poetic lyrics and raw emotional score of teenage angst.
