Summary:
The best Bond song ever
Comment:
Chris Cornell has come up with a gem of a theme song for the last in the James Bond series. The song is everything but dull and cheesy (unlike many of the other James Bond songs - and films). For this reason, it is fully in line with the film which is strong enough that it could stand alone as a great espionnage film and is a step apart from the other James Bond movies. Besides the fact that I may be bias in saying that Daniel Craig delivers a performance far superior to any other James Bond actors so far, and that he's impossibly sexy as the new Bond, the film also brings a vulnerability and a complexity to its main character unseen in previous Bond movies. To carry a film this good, with such a tight scrip and powerful (sometimes moving) performances, it was a genius idea to approach an artist like Chris Cornell to ask him to score the music. Chris Cornell yet again writes a beautiful, epic song, with clever, insightful lyrics and delivers a great performance. This is why the music really goes with the film, but also - and just like the film -, it is strong enough to stand on its own and isn't an obvious soundtrack. 10 out of 10.

Excellent!
Comment:
This inculdes an amzing song in You Know My Name-and just to clear this confusion up it is the ROCK version-the movie version is only 3 minutes long and changes the lyrics 'I've seen diamonds' to 'I've seen this diamond' and the movie version cuts out a long part at the end. Still, I got this single with the rock version and it is probably the best song I have ever heard-I must have listened to it at least 50 times. However, if you want to get the official version, just search it on YouTube and enjoy it. Anyway, You Know My Name is amazing in any format, and don't let the version confusion get you worried-I've heard all 3 (Jazz, Rock and Movie) and they're basically the same.

Two contrasting tracks, one brilliant!
Comment:
Buy this CD for the Bond theme - it is absolutely brilliant both to listen to as a song but also as the new Bond theme. The other track on this disk is not great at all - in total contrast to You Know My Name. Can't say for sure which version of You Know My Name it is but "I've seen diamonds cut though..." is the version on here and possibly, although don't hold me to this, it sounds slightly different to the one I remember from the movie despite the fact that the disk says "as featured in Casino Royale". Brilliant either way!

Best Bond Theme EVER
Comment:
The first time I heard "You Know My Name" was on the radio. The guy that was on complained about it for 5 minutes after it had finished, saying that it was the worst Bond song ever - going on and on about how it was "un-Bond-like". At first, I was a little sceptical... I then saw the music video on Kerrang a few times after that and was gradually beginning to fall for it...
When I went to the cinema to finally see the movie, I was completely BLOWN AWAY by the opening sequence. The colourful 'card/poker-references' actually made the sequence exciting! Thought most of the excitement was mostly thanks to the music. Along came Chris Cornell... This song just blows you away. After seeing the movie, I just had to buy the record.
Since buying it about two weeks ago, I've practically had it on repeat non-stop. I seriously cannot get enough of this song. It puts such a vivid picture of the movie in your head... Completely brilliant. If you love Bond and/or Chris Cornell, you will have probably bought this already. If not, then buy it now! You won't regret it.

Comment:
how can anyone rate this as one of the best bond songs ever when it is possibly the dullest of them all, it has nothing near the sexy kitch of nobody does it better nor the decade defining measure of a view to a kill rock or movie version this is perfect for people who have a very bland pallet. as bond songs are ment to be inspiring and suggestive of the film as a whole i can say without a doubt this one falls far short, in fact belly flopping when compared to something as powerful and captivating as goldeneye.
