Brilliant, Intriguing, Intelligent Film Score
Comment:
Original "The X-Files" television composer Mark Snow returns with a most impressive film score for the second "X-Files" film that is among the finest I have heard so far from this year. Snow offers an elegant mixture of 19th Century Romantic music coupled with spirited interludes in techno pop and almost hip hop melodies. Indeed, Snow's score may be the best thing about this film aside from the excellent screen chemistry between actors Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. Diehard fans of the original television series and those seeking an excellent contemporary film score will definitely want to add this CD to their collections. The soundtrack includes several original songs heard during the film and its final credits.

Comment:
Great film and the soundtrack is a great companion piece.
The NEW X FIles Movie - I Want To Believe, for me, really lived up to the expectations, and the music in the tv series was a very big part of the show, very atmospheric and always fitted in when it needed to. If only more movies had stories as good as this!
Mark Snow always, even to this very day, has that same signature to his music. The reverbed piano parts blending with the strings of the orchestra, or synthesizer strings, bring back all those classic X File moments, and the music from this movie carries on that trend.
They are no sythesizer sounds this time, they have been replaced with the orchestra (just like the first X Files movie) but it still has that X Files sound.
On certain tracks cellos play a big part and recreate the joyous privelige of recapturing moments from the film.
The X Files theme has been remixed and still sounds ahead of it's time and is still a joy to listen to. UNKLE do it fantastic justice in this ever changing world of music.
Next up is the song 'Broken' which is a classic rock/pop song and again recreate the closing credits of the film WHICH MUST BE VIEWED AS IT LEADS TO A GREAT MOMENT. Watch through the credits and you'll see what I mean.
Go see this film whether new to the X Files or a hard core fan as story wise, it's fantastic. The acting from each actor and actress is spot on and really has a great atmosphere.
It's also very intresting to see in this world of High definition, multi million pound/dollar special effects that not all movies need all these things. This movie takes us into things which special effects never could and it deserves to be taken notice of.
